COVID-19 Considerations
We are proceeding with plans to finalize this club event.
Initially, we scheduled a 7-day Caribbean cruise onboard this ship for February 13, 2021. However, due to COVID-19 considerations, Princess Cruises canceled it. We now are planning a 10-day Caribbean cruise, more than a year later, on February 28, 2022, to allow ample time for vaccines to mitigate the danger in cruising.
Here is a Notice to Passengers from Princess dated February 3, 2021, regarding COVID-19 and Cruise Ship Travel.
Group Events:
Depending on how many sign up for this cruise will determine whether we organize group events together. We expect that COVID-19 considerations will be mitigated a year into the future such that cruising will be permitted by the CDC. Nevertheless, depending on the course of the pandemic, there may still be a requirement for some level of COVID-19 protocols that could limit our degree of social interaction.
Each port of call can be experienced individually or through the excursions that Princess offers.
Cruise Parking
Princess ships generally berth at Pier 2/Terminal 2 in Port Everglades. On days when multiple ships are in port, another berth may be assigned. Ship pier/terminal assignments are posted at the entrance of the port and will direct you to the appropriate location.
There is a 6-level parking garage adjacent to terminal 2 that costs $15 per day. (Price is subject to change.)
Nearest Superchargers
Terminal 2 is about 10 miles east of the Plantation Supercharger Station. It is about 15 miles north of the Aventura Supercharger Station and about 34 miles south of the Delray Beach Supercharger Station. If you plan to leave your Tesla parked for the 10 days unplugged, it would be prudent to leave it with an adequate charge because it will lose charge during the cruise.
Hotels
For anyone interested in staying at a hotel the night before departure, Hyatt has two nearby hotels with Tesla Destination Chargers.
Hyatt House Ft. Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port
Hyatt Place Ft. Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port
Both hotels are about 6 miles from the cruise port. Their locations are programmed into your Tesla's navigation system.
We look forward to seeing many of you on this Cruise!
