Tesla Owners Club of Atlanta and Florida Tesla Enthusiasts are collaborating on a Tesla Southeast Meetup hopefully coinciding with a SpaceX Falcon 9 Launch and Landing at Cape Canaveral, Florida on February 29-March 1 (weather permitting for launch).

The following official sanctioned Tesla clubs have expressed an interest in this event.  If other sanctioned club express an interest we will add them to the list.

Although you do not need to be a member of an official Tesla Owners Club to attend, we encourage you to join the appropriate club in your geographic area by clicking on one of the links above.

Radisson Resort Group Hotel Rate

We are proceeding with this event.

The Radisson Resort by the Port has reserved a block of rooms for us.

  • 9 Suites at $229+ taxes
  • 20 standard rooms at $199+ taxes

After you register you will receive an automated message providing you with instructions on how to make your reservation.

The cut-off date to make reservations in this block was January 31

Kennedy Space Center Tour

We've looked at the feasibility of pursuing group rates, but the complexity and inconvience of paying as a group is not worth the modest discount. So each family should pay for their tour individually. Likewise, each family should arrange for their own transportation to and from the Radisson to the Kennedy Space Center.  We will probably have a caravan to the Space Center.

Please note that we still plan to do a group tour of the Kennedy Space Center on Sunday, March 1st and that requires daily admission.

HOW TO WATCH A ROCKET LAUNCH AT KENNEDY SPACE CENTER VISITOR

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex may offer any of the following viewing area options for a rocket launch.

  • LC-39 Observation Gantry - $49 in addition to daily admission
  • Banana Creek Launch Viewing Area (adjacent to the Apollo/Saturn V Center) - $20 in addition to daily admission
  • The main visitor complex, next to Space Shuttle Atlantis┬« - included with daily admission

Availability of these locations is different for every launch. Launch viewing at the main visitor complex is always included with daily admission if the launch takes place during operating hours, but not all special viewing areas are available for every launch.

The Space Center can be open for overnight or early morning launches that are outside of normal hours of operation, but it can vary with each launch. We will not know for sure whether we can view this launch at the Space Center until the launch shows up on the Kennedy Space Center launch schedule.

Registration Process

At this time we feel that there is sufficient information to ask our members if they are seriously interested in attending this event.

To assist us in planning, the registration process is set up to collect registrations by club.  If you are not a member of any of the clubs listed above, select the registration type that best cooresponds to where you live.  If none of the types match your situation, select Other.

If you are a member of a non-Florida club, or live in a state other than Florida, enter your city and zip code in the "Florida City" and "Florida Zip code" fields of the registration form.

We will be contacting each of the club leaders on the list and asking them to email their membership to provide them with the link to this event.

If you are a TOC club leader and you would like your club added to the list, please contact Larry Chanin at lfchanin@gmail.com.

There is no cost to register, and although we are requesting that only people serious about attending register, you will not be making a financial commitment by registering.

We will periodically update this event description to add or change information. In addition, if you register we will send you updates directly to your inbox.

If you have any questions or suggestions, email Tyler Young, at ty.young1230@gmail.com, or Larry Chanin at lfchanin@gmail.com.
